My Interest in computer training began shortly after traveling to Malawi as a backpacker engaging in volunteer work.
I am originally from Johannesburg, South Africa where I started working as Software Specialist installing and supporting Lotus Notes and CC Mail, for large companies in Johannesburg.
When I arrived in Malawi, I ran out of money very quickly, and so to support myself I offered to do some computer training for Businesses in Blantyre. After meeting and marrying my wife Amanda in Malawi, we relocated to a town in South Africa called Knysna, where I again offered services in Computer Training and Support. I am so glad my students were patient learners.
After moving to Australia, we lived in Sydney and for a few years, I worked in Sales and Marketing Roles for the largest Apple Reseller at the time in Sydney. It was an exciting time as Steve Jobs had just taken the reins of Apple back and IMac became the rage. Microsoft Office also became available for Apple Computers.
Few years later I decided to resume my passion for helping others through training and coaching. I gained my Microsoft Specialist qualifications as well, the Trainer and Assessor qualification (Currently TAE 40110/6).
I began working for the then largest training provider in Australia, New Horizons Learning Centres as a Senior Microsoft Applications Trainer specifically in Excel, Excel VBA, Access, Access VBA and MS Project.
After a few years of training full time, I went out on my own as a training consultant for several training providers, further expanding my knowledge and love for Applications Training and Coaching.
Recently, I started FlexiCoach to provide a more flexible methodology to education. This allowed students to better gain and retain skills needed for their work, to further strengthen learning outcomes. This has proved to be very successful.
The goal of FlexiCoach is to provide better education, for software applications.
